Blackbird?

Like the song?

Yes.

A guy by the name of Paul McCartney, you may or may not have heard of him, inspired by the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960’s and news footage of the “Little Rock Nine,” a small group of Black students who had enrolled at an all-white high school in Arkansas in 1957, penned the now famous song, Blackbird. A song about empowerment, hope, and never giving up fighting for what is right.

Blackbird singing in the dead of night,
Take these broken wings and learn to fly,
All your life, you were only waiting for your moment to arise…

Likewise, a guy by the name of Nick Shupper, trust me, you’ve never heard of him, started Blackbird Productions in 2023. Inspired by leaders and organizations with bold, audacious visions and ideas, we partner with them to help tell their stories. Stories that inspire, challenge, and educate with the goal of changing lives, systems, and ultimately the world for the better.

Nick is a graduate of Pepperdine University (B.A. Religion ‘06) and American University (M.F.A. Film & Electronic Media ‘10). He started his career in Hollywood working on an award-winning visual effects producing team on such films as Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, Tomorrowland, and Kong: Skull Island. In 2016, he was hired by Fellowship Church, “one of the fastest growing churches in America” as their first Director of Communications. He served in that role until the Covid-19 pandemic broke out in 2020 and transitioned into the new role of Director of Film + TV. Over the next few years, he directed, produced, and wrote hundreds of hours of video content from short documentaries to marketing promos, to online services, and much more. He lives in Pasadena, California with his wife, Jasmin, and their two daughters, Kensington and Everleigh.
